Need Thai Visa From Cambodia - Where Is Closest Place From Maha Sarakha (Issan)

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me some adive about getting visa from cambodia? thanks

I am 47 yr old, canadian. Entered country with just a 30 day stamp on Dec 13th so i need to do something in next 2 days.

thanks

Seeing as you are in Mahasarakham is there a reason why you are not going to Laos?

THat would be alot easier.

How much time do you need? Vientiane might issue a two entry tourist visa. Not more than single is likely in Cambodia and even that may take several days. A border crossing will only get 15 days visa exempt entry.

Why do you want to go to Cambodia? It would be far easier to go to Mukdahan (Isaan), cross into Laos and get a visa from the Thai consulate in Savannakhet.

Is there any particular reason that you need to go to Cambodia? If so, the easiest way is to fly to Phnom Penh.

If you are looking to exit and re-enter Thailand on a visa exempt entry, you will get 15 days by land and 30 days by air. The closest border crossing to Maha Sarakhan is Savannakhet, Laos. Take a bus to Mukdahan and walk across. you will have to get a visa to enter Laos, I'm not exactly sure of the cost but think that it's around 40 USD.

the only reason i wanted get visa from cambodia is to see somewhere new.

If that is not going to work... could i get visa from savannakhet then take bus down to Pakxe (Pakse) - then re-enter thailand close to Ubon Ratchathani?

I am not in a hurry so keen to see some new places.

thanks all!

Why walk across the bridge into Savannakhet ?Get off the bus at the Thai end to be stamped out. You then have to get back on the bus to be taken to the Laos side to get a Laos visa. Then get back on the bus to go to Savannakhet station.
