Just to clarify - what are earthbag buildings . Do you mean Rammed earth building (pise') or something like mud brick buildings ( Adobe')?

I have interest in alternative building methods too.

The poster above has a link to a site that you can click on the left sidebar on workshops. My wife and I went to the one on Koh Phangan last year for a weekend, Well worth the money and a lot of fun. julienne, Hubert and Abby were great teachers and we learned a lot. The only problem most students had was smoothing out the cement on the walls. But that's to be expected. You can always call in a pro to do that part. I built some walls for a garden at our house in Chiang Mai using earthbags. You have to make a few tools yourself that they don't sell in Thailand, but that is easy to do. it's all quite cheap. We will be building our next house using earthbags sometime next year. If you need anymore information you can p.m. me.
