zzaa09
ATTENTION: Over all these years, Phuket still yearns for a decent and often regularly scheduled songtaew/bus system for the public.
SlyAnimal
ATTENTION: Over all these years, Phuket still yearns for a decent and often regularly scheduled songtaew/bus system for the public. But if it was more useful, then the mafia would just put it out of business.

Old Croc
Leave this thread in General. If it goes to the Phuket forum it will attract about 60-70 posts of dribble with several of the usual culprits writing long diatribes about how there isn't any problems with transport (or anything else) because they haven't seen it personally. Boaters estimates, while probably made tongue in check, are likely close to the mark. Hire a motorbike and put your life in the hands of god. lovelaos
Maybe the OP would be better off asking a tuktuk driver.
WinnieTheKhwai
Rent a car. Preferably one that isn't easily identifiable as a rental car.
Daewoo
Or organise a car and driver through the hotel/on the beach/get a number from a friend... tuk tuks are a no-no... they are not for use as public transport, just a tourist attraction... thaiIand
more expensive than taking a plane + bus trip to a better beach area in thailand.
DP25
cATCH A BUS i dont think there are any buses that cover that route... maybe a mod can tranfer this to the phuket forum for better advise There are but it's not direct. First get a sontheow from Rawaii to Phuket Town. Then get a second one to whatever beach you wnat to go to. Total maybe 60 baht. There are no direct buses, but during the day time at least you can go between any of the beaches cheaply and without hiring the tuk tuk mafia. zzaa09
tuk tuks are a no-no... they are not for use as public transport, just a tourist attraction... Perhaps within those tourist locales. To be expected. Tuk-tuks are the working horses of Thai public transport. In some regions they are very reliable and reasonable. That's the real world....
