Non "o" Visa

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

My name is Louis, American guy and I'm 55yo. I have a question: I currently have a multiple entry Non "O" visa good for a year. It expires on January 2, 2006, and I will not be able to get a new 1 year visa this time. I have to make a run to Mae Sai this month and presumably this will allow me another 90 days to stay in LOS. I have been here for 2 years now. I would like to know exactly what I must do in order to just do a tourist visa run every month when my Non "O" runs out in January. I want to stay in LOS instead of going back to the states and I want to do it legally. I have monthly income and I also have my own car here so travelling is no problem for me. Thanks for any help that you folks can give me. I know of another american who has been doing the tourist visa run for about 6 years but I have lost his contact information or he would be able to tell me exactly the procedure. Thanks again. See ya

Are you aware that you can extend your stay for one year at a time on the basis of retirement if you have 800k (baht) in a Thai bank account or a pension letter from your embassy (65k per month income statement notarized by official) or combination of the two that equals 800k? When you say you have monthly income I assume it is from outside Thailand.

The monthly border run is cross border, enter other country, return Thailand and obtain 30 day visa free entry stamp. You are required to have 10,000 baht (seldom checked) when you do this and if you continue you may be told not to return at some crossings. This can be self done or on an organized trip (runs from Bangkok charge about 2,000 baht).

Another option that might be open is a trip to Penang to obtain another multi O visa if you have a Thai bank account book you can show them. 200k or maybe even less in an account would probably ok.

Thank you lopburi3,

Is there any type of paperwork that I must fill out before making my run to Mae Sai for the tourist stamp?

In your original post you say you have a multi entry O visa still valid when you make the Mai Sai run and you know you will get another 90 day entry. Now your talking about a tourist stamp? Strange. :o

lopburi3, Hes talking about the tourist stamp after his non O runs out. If he times it right. It would be around March 30th before he needs to start visa runs as a tourist.

Could be I guess but he says "my run" singular and OP said that the run would be using the last entry of a multi entry visa so I would make it "my run".
