Tywais
A deep-fat fryer.A Western cookbook. Good luck on that. When I first got married my wife was all excited about learning to cook farang food and bought cookbooks and all. Nine years later and I'm still waiting for that meal. Neeranam
Actually she is a great cook of Western and Thai food - used to have a restaurant. She learned from my mother/grand-mother too - all my favourites. Lasagne, Spag. Bol., Chicken Kiev, macaroni cheese, fish and chips etc. Indian food too which is a real bonus. Was a big factor, or maybe 'bonus' is a better word in getting married. All any previous g/fs could do was make Mama Noodles. Chicken Korma was for lunch today. Give me a traditional Thai girl anyday! Some people care about their status, I care about how my stomache feels. It's true what the old-wifies say about the way to a man's heart. But New Years, usually all Thais exchange gifts. I suggest a vacuum cleaner.

sbk
On a serious note (a mop and a brush Shame on you! I hope Santa puts a lump of coal in your stocking this Christmas ) a well known brand name perfume will go over nicely. Don't buy her face creams or any cosmetics--that is always a very personal choice (dry skin, combo etc--I'm sure you don't have a clue ). A day trip to a spa would be also be a terrific gift. Every girl likes a bit of pampering.
tuky
Funnily enough my wife and I have never swapped a present. We have only been together about 4 years though so I may be speaking too early. Sometimes I arrive home a day earlier than she expected (when I am working away) and she loves that surprise, otherwise I could not tell you what to buy as a gift. I had not thought of this before, I wonder if my wife ever wants a gift? Nah.....
