January 24, 201214 yr hi everybody. I'm new here and hoping someone can help. Do any of the currency exchange places in Bangkok change €500 notes? specifically the 'Best Exchange' place in Pratuman. Any info really appreciated .thanks
January 24, 201214 yr I've seen Bars changing them... personally I wouldn't but I don't think you'll have to much problem. Maybe you should change them into smaller notes, but then you;d have to declare excess baggage of course :-)
January 24, 201214 yr Where's Super Rich? I've only been to Super Poor before. The advantage i think is in comparison that in the SP you get what you have. You don't get what you think you want in the SR. It's already too late if you ask a question like this. If you really know the problem you should know how to ask the question more correctly. Good luck.

January 25, 201214 yr Can't answer for Best Exchange, but I have never had a problem in Super Rich. +1 same here. No probs what so ever.

Remember there are 2 companies with the same name called Super Rich, although one is actually superrich1965 or something like that. I use the colours to distinguish the difference between them, I usually get better deals at the Green one opposite Central World in the little soi there. Edited January 25, 201214 yr by beano2274
January 25, 201214 yr That's all interesting. Nobody outside banks will touch them in Spain, mainly because they haven't seen originals before :-)
January 25, 201214 yr Author That's all interesting. Nobody outside banks will touch them in Spain, mainly because they haven't seen originals before :-) Yeah, I have heard this too, thats why I was unsure about the situation in Bkk. Anyway, so it appears that most places in Bkk have no issue taking the 500 Euro note? Well that's my question answered so..thanks to everyone that contributed constructively
January 25, 201214 yr Author The problem with 500 Euro notes: yep, but this doesn't seem to stop exchange places in Bangkok accepting/exchanging the note. All good so.

February 14, 201214 yr The problem with 500 Euro notes: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/8678979.stm the 1000 swiss franc note is worth more and nobody cares about it in switzerland you can buy a coffee with it and amazingly THE SHOP WILL ALWAYS HAVE CHANGE ! banning large notes just because some criminals might launder them is a stupid idea that punishes everybody who has EARNED the right to own such notes for his convenience
