The_Other_Mac
It's a good day to learn the Royal Anthem. Google turns up lots of sites with the lyrics in karaoke Thai. Trouble is, as we know, common versions of karaoke Thai are only useful when you already know the words... Could some kind person post the lyrics written in Thai script, or even better, written in a tonal transliteration method such as Thai2English.com or Poomisan-Becker? My own contribution to fellow learners is a link to free audio: Thai Royal Anthem. (There are lots of versions out there that sound sweeter, but many are instrumental only; this one has almost-clear vocals.)

It doesn't have the tones but you can follow with the audio. I follow along with this one in school. http://www.learningthai.com/songs/anthem.html
The_Other_Mac
Her's the one from Learningthai.com. It doesn't have the tones but you can follow with the audio. I follow along with this one in school. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ahem. Thanks.... but that is the national anthem. Big difference! The Royal anthem (often just called the King's song) is most familiar to farangs as the sort of soft classical song that is played in the cinema before each movie. It pays respect to the King; tomorrow is the King's birthday, which is why it's a good time to learn it. The national anthem is the one you hear on the radio, at train stations (and all state buildings), at 8am and 6pm every day. It's... rather.... military... Gappui
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phleng_Sansasoen_Phra_Barami The Thai name is "เพลงสรรเสริญพระบารมี" but also known as the "Kao Wor" song because "Kao Wor" are the first two words, and the real name is too long. punkonater
Hi, I've been trying to search online for the actual music in order to play the King's Anthem. I have been studying classical guitar now for about 8 years, and living in Thailand for 13 years. I'd be very happy if I could learn how to play the King's Anthem on guitar, or learn the chords. Any links to actual music would be so helpful! Thanks very much.
meadish_sweetball
If you are classically schooled you'd probably prefer sheet music, but for what it's worth, here's one on Youtube, the chords he uses are fairly obvious from the video (the key is C and none of the chords used are particularly unusual ones):
