Electronic Cigarettes Still Illegal?

Featured Replies

Hi

Are electronic cigarettes still illegal in Thailand?

I want to bring my vaping kit with me but I dont want to get in trouble. I have seen them openly for sale in Pattaya on the street, but then again there are other things openly for sale on the street in Pattaya that are illegal

They also seem to be manufacturing them and exporting them from thailand http://www.alibaba.c...-cigarette.html and http://www.cig4earth.com/

Thanks

I didn't know they were ever illegal?!

They are openly sold in Patong on the 'main road'. Admittedly, Patong is not the best example of 'legal' behaviour, but generally anything illegal is sold on the 'back streets'.

Hmm getting stopped with them at the airport is like getting stopped with an extra carton or cigarettes or some pornography where you have to pay a small fine. Or is it like being stopped with a bag of weed where youd be looking at 10 years?

They are illegal to buy and sell, not illegal to use. Have had no trouble bringing mine in or out when I enter/exit Thailand.

I never heard of them can some one explain them to me and the reason for using them.

Do they replace cigarettes?

Can some one explain them to me. Do they actually replace a cigarette.

Yes basically........They are a device with a small battery which runs

a heating element.

Folks drip a solution they call juice into a chamber in the device.

It is heated/vaporized into a smoke/vapor

The juice is available in various strengths flavors & does contain nicotine.

Odorless & supposedly not as bad for you because you are

not burning certain carcinogens present in a cigarette

Never tried one but this is what I have read/heard

There is a whole topic on it in the Stop Smoking Forum >

I thought they took nicotine cartridges? Never heard of ones where you drip the "Juice" into them and then cook it...; I can only imagine what that looks like?

Just another bladdy fad from the PC crowd.

Quite fashionable they are, I understand.jerk.gif

I suspect they are useful to 1) those who are trying to stop smoking or 2) smokers enduring a long plane flight.

Somebody showed me one a couple of years ago and, after a few puffs, I was impressed - thinking that it would be a godsend on a long plane flight.

Unfortunately, I didn't order one at the time.... A few months ago I bought one in Patong (I know - stupid thing to do...), only to find all the 'flavours' were revolting mad.gif. A complete waste of money.
