Given that HSBC Thailand looks like it's on its way out I'm considering using Standard Chatered instead, does anyone bank with them and if so, any pro's and con's worth mentioning, I'm particularly interested in Standard Chatered in Chiang Mai?

Also, I would guess that they have something equal to HSBC's Premier account, again, any comments worth noting?

Pretty quiet in the SC Chiang Mai when I've been in there. Only used it to transfer money to pay someone with SC acct.

When I set up SC acct in Sing. the BKK branch refused to witness and handle documents for them (CM branch wasn't even on the radar for them)! Would look at them in terms of details of accts and charges etc. Wouldn't depend on them having a good working relationship with other SC banks abroad.
