I'm not sure that Dentists are defined by "children" or "adult" and I guess it also depends on where you live? Maybe you should tell us so we can recommend?

Great female dentist up the top of soi khao noi. Husband (owner) is a friendly farang and she also speaks good English.

Bangkok Pattaya Hospital have dentists that specialise in looking after children.

But do you really need a dentist for a 2 year old?

Mine didn't start going to one until 5+ years old.

If teeth looking as your avatar's are the result of that ... giggle.gif

Of course need to see a dentist with a 2 year old ...: clean, apply Fluoride, apply sealant, prevent decay ...

Rephrased: Can any readers recommend a child friendly dentist which they take their own toddlers to.

Do you have the actual name or location on soi khao noi ?

Some of those milk teeth can last into early teens so it is wise to start good habits early. One of my children had minor cavities from bottle feeding, which where cleaned and sealed at 4 and she still has those teeth at 7, so I'm glad we went.

Samtivej Hospital at Sri Racha has a paedeatric dentist which is very good imo.

At age 2 - 5 really it should just be a gentle introduction to the dentist where the dentist shows the child how to clean their teeth properly and then does some teeth counting all to reassure and keep the child happy and coming to the dentist for the rest of their life.

Only in energency situation shoulds invasive procedures be done (filling, extracting etc).

Research has shown that even if the tooth will fall out because it is damaged this is better in the long term than an invasive action that will frighten the child and cause them to skip the dentist when they are older.

Unfortunately many Thai dentists have not read or heard of the research and the style practised of Western and other Asian countries' dentists and still you here of numerous stories of extractions, injections and other very scary procedures (for a child!).
