Petchabun

Featured Replies

My wife is from Buang Sham Pan, about 80 km south of Petchabun and we just bought a piece of land there where we are planning to build a second "holiday" home. We are living in Pattaya (Jomtien area) and I really like it here, but in high season, with all this Russian tourists around and during Songkran I like to move out to a more quiet place.

My questions are:

-where in that area can I buy a farang boxspring bed

-is there any 3G internet already avaliable

-what is the best solution for Television, satelite??

-are there any Home Pro's or Home Works around?

-any farang bars or restaurants?

All help, information I can get from guys knowing that area better tha me are VERY WELCOME!!

Thanks,

Len

Hi,there are several topics in the central Thailand forum, have a quick search you might gain some further insight.

You are not alone!, there are many, I say again many! farang/expats who reside in the three southern Amphur's of Phetchabun - (Si Thep/Wichien Buri/Bung sam pan).

A number of peeps hang out in the new covered market in Wichien Buri town, its next to a big 7/11.

A Belgian bloke sells draught LEO, so just look out for supping Aussies/Brits/Germans et al, mainly on a Thursday.

Up the road from you on Highway 21 in the town of Nong Pai there is a Build Center for anything to do with house construction. There again if you employ a local builder they will have their own preferred building supplies place.

For big stores - furniture/electrical goods try Phetchabun City.

The nearest Home Pro is either Phitsanulok or Bangkok (Rangsit), there again Nakhon Sawan and Chaiyaphum are in range for Bung sam pan. The central forum can provide more info on that.

If you are into agriculture/farming the chaps in WB market are the ones to ask, there are pig farmers/sugar cane/chicken farmers etc. & I recently met a Finland chap who claimed he managed a Chilli farm.
