bkkmick
Sorry it's rotated, the thing actually hangs down and has an opening about 1cm wide. It is about 12cm high and hanging on a tree in my garden. Cheers

Thongkorn
I am almost certain that Its a Hornets nest some times they hang, be aware that if you disturb them they will chase you and probably kill you with a lot of stings, you will have to as some one to take it away if you have children that play near it. bkkmick
Looks a bit small for a hornets nest, but you never know. I googled weaver bird nests and while there seem to be many types none quite looks like my one. I have no intention of disturbing it. Been watching it for a while now and no sign of activity. mackes
Birds nest are made from grass or leafs while the more dangerous insects make nest from sand. But as said before keep out, don't investigate
Thongkorn
There are smaller hornets that sting but not fatal, but i would definitely observe what flies in and out first before you do any thing ,if its not a problems leave it alone.
zzaa09
OP: just be curious and interested about it. Needn't disturb unless it is a vital threat......which I doubt.
barrybankruad
Had a hornets nest on my property. A local came and paid 200baht for it. Took it away, when he did I stood well clear. He seemed to know what he was doing and didn't get stung. I understand they eat the larvae found inside the nest.
APA
Definately a Weaver Bird's nest. Have many in my garden. Please do not interfere with it. At the end of the nesting season the birds will depart and then you can remove the nest if you want to. Next year, when they return, they will build a new nest!
