What'S The Longest Duration Of Tourist Visa?

I need to leave today and have decided to go to KL. Was here for the past 9 years on yearly business visa extensions. However, just sold my business and need to revert to tourist status.

Can I ask for 60 days at KL Thai embassy and then extend for a further 30 days in Thailand? Need a few months to tie up loose ends before I leave.
