Hi guys,

I am new in Bangkok. Therefore I got a bit difficult to find location like food, supermarket. Well, I should learn thai then. :)

Does anyone know the eletronic centre that provide complete smartphone devices. Still confuse, what kind of smartphone should I buy. I need for GPS, and other general communication functionality. Is Android is a good choice? If so, do you have any suggestion?

The other things is, which telecommunication provider is good and easier for me to stay connected with my home country?

Regarding to first and second, wen compared to Blackberry, is it better using blackberry or android? I also need video call in most time with my family.

Any suggestion is really appreciated.

Your questions are very challenging, we are not sure where to even start

I think you need to choose an environment: Apple/iOS, or Blackberry, or Windows Phone or Android. And then, take a look at those, balancing your budget against the different models available.

Then look for a service provider.

Can you tell us anything more about what you need a phone to do for you? What is your budget?

Hi Lomatopo,

Thanks for your feedback!

Sure, seems I prefer the Android one. :D, seems more freedom. lol.

My bugdet will not more than 20000 baht. :)

My main purpose are GPS, chatingg, either call or video call also mailing&browsing.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Sure, that was easy.

Samsung Galaxy S II, while the MSRp is 18,900 baht there have been reports of prices as low as 16,500, while the typical current box-shop prices seems to be 17,200 baht.

The 4th floor of the Mah Boon Khrong (MBK) shopping center, National Stadium stop on the BTS (Skytrain), is generally acknowledged as offering the largest and most diverse mobile phone selection with hundreds of shops.

You could then look at a pre-pay voice, text and 3G/data plan from AIS/One-2-Call, DTAC/Happy or TrueMove H.

TrueMove H has the best national 3G coverage, with AIS in a close second. DTAC has coverage in most major areas including Bangkok, but is far behind these other two in coverage as of today.

If you can give an approximate monthly budget, and uasgae for voice, text, data then we can point you towards some possible plans.

Well, Did you mean that I 'could' find that cheapar (around 16500) at MBK? If so, do they take care about warranty services (post sale)? (or the other shopping centre?)

Honestly, I don't know too much about how does here telecommunication provider charge every transaction. :) This is pretty new for me :).

But 300 to 400 baht seem make sense for my current budget. :D.

Thanks Lomato!
