Do I Lose My Marriage Visa If I Leave The Country?

Featured Replies

Hi all, my non-immigrant 0 expires on the 7th February and I am going to apply for the 1 year marriage extension. I am a little foggy on some of the conditions though. Is it the same as the non-immigrant visas whereby if I leave the country the entry is canceled and I need a new valid entry to reenter? Or can I come and go as I please without my year extension being affected???

Any information would be much appreciated

Thanks

Joy

Leaving the application for a one year extension of your Non-O a bit late, in case your local Immigration guy or gal asks for more details. You can apply anytime in the last 30 days of your Non-O.

In any case, good luck, and at the SAME time you apply for the marriage extension, be sure to get a Re-Entry Permit, then you can leave Thailand and return and maintain the same validity of your extension.

the Re-Entry Permits coming in Single for baht 1,000 or Multiple for baht 3,800. Your choice.

A re-entry permit is only valid for the current permitted to stay stamp so you do not want to obtain until you have the one year extension of stay stamp in your passport (unless a short trip planned before then). A re-entry permit costs 1,000 baht or 3,800 baht multi entry and allows return using that as your visa and your permitted to stay will be the same date as it was when you obtained the re-entry permit. You must obtain before you leave the country.
