I'm in Srisaket. I come by some thin wall steel now and then and would love some small rod on hand.

2.6mm is a little heavy for 1mm

Or I'll just have to purchase a MIG.

1.0mm SMAW electrodes dont exist, smallest is 1.6mm

SMAW electrodes are not really suitable for trying to weld 1mm material thickness....you will burn through a lot....GTAW (TIG) or GMAW (MIG/MAG) would be far better...but cost is a lot more for equipment wire spools, gas, tungstens etc

Talk to the guy who owns Qwik-Fire in Udorn, a TV sponser in the Issan forum. Very nice guy and experienced at light ga stainless welding.
