I said already....

New suzuki swift 1.2l

Local thai review sites say its the dog's b**locks.

Available from mid March

You really should check it before buying anything

local Thai review says you can't feel the potholes even at speed and also says "it cruises beautifully at 160kph" (i think) really reads like a sponsored review to me as all a bit OTT? Do they do that here?

Purchased a Nissan March for 455,000 Bt. After 1 year sold it for 440,000 Bt and purchased another one. They are wonderful but dealers in BKK are better and faster in getting your car

Was at the Chaengwattan Immigration on Thursday and saw a Mazda 2 on display in there. I asked and was told that downpayment is 10%; including for foreigner (from ASEAN). I double checked and was told that again.. Sounds good to me

Any one come across a similar offer

I haven't seen anyone mention the Honda Brio. I have seen a few around and a friend rented one and said it is quite nice for a local commuter. I believe around 555,000bt. I read internet reports of it's release in India and they were also good. Anyone with experience regarding this model?

Second WTK's suggestion- the Nissan March eco-car.

Upper middle range model 460K THB. Driver side airbag, AT, full power windows/locks, CD, alloy wheels, etc.

Since they hit the market, I've seen 100s of them here in CM. Very popular car for local driving conditions- tight turn radius; easy to park.

Honda Brio at about 505K THB also a strong contender. Flood crisis has hit availabilty of this model, however.

I keep intending to buy one or the other; just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Can you get a March with both driver and passenger front airbags?

Yeah, the top line model- around 500K THB.

Also, I did mention the Honda Brio in an earlier post. But the Big Flood effectively eliminated availability of this model for a while.

Remember the photos of the Honda factory in Ayutthya, taken from a helicopter, of many new cars floating in a huge parking lot published in all the Thai newspapers a few months ago? Those were mostly Brios, and Honda made a big point of publicly scrapping all these flood damaged cars to quash rumors of these cars being rehabbed and put back on the market. Back order on this model is probably a minimum 6 months, probably a year is more like it.

Too bad, because although it is a bit pricier than the March, it has a 4 cyl motor (not 3), and a bit more umphh.

They're both B class compacts, so no real difference except the Brio's styling is better to my eye, but that is just my opinion.

Thanks McGriffith, I see you did mention the Brio earlier but I missed it the first time I browsed through the thread. I personally really like the styling of the Brio also, but I was surprised I didn't see many on the road. I guess your flood explanations answers why. Too bad for Honda.
