My friend wants to visit cousins (Thai) that live in London. She is a high school student here in Thailand. She would like to know what questions she will be expected to answer when applying for a visa and also upon arrival in England.. She plans to stay there for three months with her cousins.

Thank you.

The vast majority of applicants for UK Visitor Visas are not interviewed - the ECO will rely solely on the supporting documentation provided with the application when making a decision. As a general rule, make the application as complete as possible, emphasising evidence of how she will be supported in the UK, where she will stay and what reasons she has to return to Thailand at the end of her visit.

At the border, she will be asked the purpose of her stay and may be asked to provide evidence of return travel arrangements and/or sufficient funds. Getting the visa is more challenging.

My gf got hers last Thursday. I was amazed as I thought it was a rather weak application and wasn't very hopeful at all. Hopefully, the airport experience will be as easy..

Basically, the form asked for personal info on applicant and parents, work situation, accomodation and how the trip would be financed. I included a letter to them stating that I would feed and house her for the duration of the trip and would be applying for repeat visas in the future.

You apply online so can see all the questions. None of the questions will trip you up. You just need to be honest and demonstrate how the visit will be funded etc. Don't be too intimidated.
