Fake Mattress?

Featured Replies

My girlfriend works in a hospital. Sometimes they have salesman coming round to sell to the staff.

Today she was offered a mattress. Supposedly a "rubber" mattress.

I said hey if it's foam it's no good I had one it got a dip in one year.

She said no latex like yours (I have a very good latex at home).

I said hang on one problem they're great but very very heavy, need at least four men to move.

She said no it's not heavy.

I said maybe it's a bad quality.

She said no it's Sealy. The price was 12000 reduced to 8900.

My question.

Is there a Sealy as cheap as 12000?

Is there a latex anywhere near that cheap?

Do they make fake mattresses?

This is Thailand , You get what you pay, and you pay for what you get.

Is there a place where this doesn't apply?

I'd also add "caveat emptor".

No fake goods in the UK? Ever been to Camden Market?

And Thailand also has trading standards.

ok,try complaining about a thai business that doesnt offer good service and see how fast your post gets deleted :)

thailand may have trading laws .....but it has even stronger laws to protect business and enterprize owners who

can have you arrested until they are compensated for your libel or slander if they feel it has lost them business

or money somewhere

To the OP - in the UK you could buy a Sealy at those prices but unlikely to be latex so probably even more unlikely in Thailand. Latex comes in many grades as well.

The only way I would have thought it could be that price and light is if it is a single bed size or only a mattress topper!

Thanks all

I told my gf to go to Central and ask about Sealy prices.

the guy told her Sealy don't even make rubber mattresses!

Main thing is she is now satisfied I'm not wriggling on buying something!
