Non Immigrant O Visa Available In Kl?

Featured Replies

In response to a different post, per going to Savannakhet, Laos to get a Non-Immigrant O Visa

Follow the exact instructions as the previous post, can I get the same visa in KL? Has anyone tried lately.

I'm 38yr old male, Canadian, not working, married to Thai, my triple entry visa ending in April 2012. Just exploring my options.

If Savannakhet, Laos is the best option so be it, I just prefer flying than bus rides.

Best Regards

Fitz

KL is also a good choice but will require show of 100k in a bank account for multi entry.

Up till now Savvankhet requires no funds.

Does KL require a marriage certificate for Non Immigrant O ?

I was just rejected this week for extension of 90 day Non O at Bangkok Immigration insisting I come back with a marriage certificate and 400K in a bank for 2 months. This was a suprise as I've had a 12 month and then a 3 month Non Immigrant O from Australia with a Thai de-facto. This was used to get a spouse visa in Australia and a Non O for Thailand but just learned Thailand don't recognise defacto. So I'm now searching for options wondering if KL would give me a Non O or if I need to fly home to get one and this time apply for 12 months as I mistakingly thought it would be easy to extend the 90 days.

No they would not and do not believe you would obtain in Oz again. De-facto is not recognized.

You would need proof of marriage, in essence a marriage certificate (Thai or foreign if married abroad).

Thailand only recognizes a legal marriage, not civil partnerships and such. The embassy/consulates in Australia might be more lenient regarding civil partnership, but I doubt KL will issue without a marriage certificate.
