Kingdingle22
Hi all, I know from reading previous threads that there are a lot of people on the caf that workout and have an interest in health and fitness etc... Some in Muay Thai also. Anyways, I checked into tigermuaythai.com on Monday to begin training to lose my gut and get in better shape. I've spent the past four months traveling around SE Asia drinking lots everyday and I want to get rid of the added pad! I wanted to know what from sort of improvement in my physique I should be aiming for and what I can realistically expect to achieve. I am, like most, looking to drop some fat and tone up a little. I would love your thoughts on this please! Few stats to help - I am 25 in one month Weigh around 11 3/4 stone 5' 9" height I guesstimate around 22-23% body fat Some pics of me topless lol... http://i.imgur.com/96sQ7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/al101.jpg http://i.imgur.com/AdqbI.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xuPbJ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hCIFe.jpg I will be training 5 days per week for 2 or, if necessary, 3 months (any thoughts on timescale please?) Training will be 1 hour fitness/cardio fat burning type class 7-8am 1 1/2 hours Muay Thai training and technique Then, after a week or two I may start doing the afternoon class as well which is boxing, Muay Thai 2 hours. I may also do weight training for an 50 mins X 3 sessions a week beginning in the second or third week (depending on how sore I am lol) Am I correct that a reasonable amount of weight to lose per week is around 1 1/2 pounds? Also, a reasonable amount of muscle growth is 2 pounds per month? (not so sure about the later?) Anyways, thanks for any comments/help/info/tips/piss taking... Cheers
dezy1801
If you train 2x a day and eat correctly you will get in the best shape of your life as I train Muay Thai for the same reason as you but only every second month and I came from 94kg (beer belly living in Pattaya) now I'm 75kg when not training and go down to 72kg after one week of training. This was achieved over a 6 month period where I was away at work every second month so if you do it for 3 months you will be in great shape. All the best and enjoy
BookMan
Is there a practical age limit on this type of training?
Kingdingle22
Thanks for the reply! I thought I'd mention my diet plan... Protein shake just before 8-10.30 training Three eggs, pouched or boiled, on brown toast after Chicken/pork/beef/fish, small amount of brown rice and a ton of steamed veggies This x 2 for lunch and dinner Another protein shake at some point in the day when I want it Chicken skewers for a snack in the evening Water, coffee, maybe a tea of some sorts, diet coke 1-2 glasses of red in the evening 1 day off with a fair few San Miguel light beers and a footlong sandwich with all the good stuff Any feedback on that please? dezy1801
Is there a practical age limit on this type of training? Most places will take you in and access your stamina and ability then just work with you and get you into a training schedule and you can do what is most comfortable for you that is what the teachers will tell you. How old you thinking or how young?

That looks like a good diet for what you want to achieve I would think about the time of your protein shake in the morning and maybe replace it with a banana or a ceral bar something light as you dont want to feel sick halfway through your training possibly after your training. Also consider pineapple after training very good for restoring vital sugars lost during training. Most Thai food is healthy and try not to eat to much carbs after lunch time if you want to loose fat. Good luck and most of all enjoy your training.
