Just wanted to draw your attention to this post in the TV General Forum that links to an e-petition aiming to get the freezing of our pensions reviewed. We shouldn't be taking this lying down as it were.

Sounds like a worthy petition.

I just don't understand the UK gov't logic of freezing pension pay-outs, just because one lives overseas.

You are not using public services in the UK- the net cost is less to the state.

Why shouldn't one receive cost of living increases?

As a US citizen, we are paid gov't pension (Social Security) that do increase over time to compensate for inflation. Not every year, but long term it goes up. The only downside is we expats have no health coverage from Medicare (over 65 health plan) even though many of us paid thousands (or 10's of thousands) in premiums. Retired US military and gov't employees do collect benefits overseas however.

Good Luck to your petition effort, Greenside.

Not my petition but definitely worth supporting. It's a cost cutting measure they steamrollered through on the basis that many of us wouldn't notice as we basked in the sun on foreign shores. Let's hope it wakes them up.
