Sorry to hi jack the thread, but has anyone ever managed to get their money back/exchange from places in MBK, Panthip, small shops if something didn't work ? Is there more chance of getting your money back or exchange from Tesco or Big C ?

Some years ago i got a portable dvd player exchanged for a new one after i returned home and found out it did not function properly - returned to the shop within 30mins in Panthip Plaza and they exchanged it without any hassle....

Chances for a phone with consumer warranty is better if you buy it in Tesco Lotus or Big C as you will get a reciept and you are sure that phone is genuine and brand new , by this you cannot be sure if bought from MBK......those can surely be second handed phones...

Thanks. I've always expected just to get fobbed off and obviously puts me off buying when I'd rather help a local trying to work than help Tescos profits.

If you buy a Samsung phone in Thailand it will be automatically registered in Thailand and you can go to any Samsung service centre in Thailand for repairs. i even (foolishly) bought a second hand Samsung in MBK which predictably developed a fault, but had repaired free at the Samsung service centre in MBK with no need for accompanying documentation.

Probably the same for other leading phone manufacturers.

Maybe so, got a Samsung at MBK with warrenty card, got a reciept and with was brand new. The box was sealed with the security tape from the company. It wasn't opened until the sales clerk set up the phone for me.
