March 8, 201214 yr I heard that the old immigration office/centre in Sathorn still does re-entry permits. Is this true? If not do I have to go to Chaeng Wattanna? Thanks.
March 8, 201214 yr Only on Saturdays. See here: The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
March 27, 201214 yr Author Thanks. Does anyone know how long it would take to get the re-entry permit done if I turned up before it opened on a Saturday morning? Thanks.
March 27, 201214 yr My experiences with re-entry permits are iimited to having to wait about 10 minutes, but never used the Saturday mrning option at Suan plu. No need to go there before opning time, not that many people seem to be using this service.
March 28, 201214 yr Author Thanks. Did you fill out the form online before going down there? I went to this website http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php then clicked on the E-Application link but the page doesn't load. Any ideas? Thanks.
March 28, 201214 yr That has nothing to do with Suan Phlu re-entry permit application - it is a future work in progress and not available yet (and has been in limbo for a very long time). The instructions of re-entry is on the right side of page as below: For a re-entry permit,if you are in Bangkok area and you have an Internet access, you could fill in a TM. 8 form and send it to [email protected] — You should e-mail the completed form 1 day in advance. — You have to submit a 2" photo and pay a permit fee at counter 7, the Immigration Bureau (soi suanplu office.) — Fee for re-entry permit: 1,000 Bahts for single 3,800 Bahts for multiple
April 5, 201214 yr Author That didn't quite go according to plan! Due to my own fault I got there at 8.31 when it opened at 8.30. By being so late I was number 76 in the queue. There was no mention of the form I emailed in when I collected my number so had to wait 2 hours to hand my form and passport in and then another 20-30 minutes to collect me passport with the stamp in. It was mayhem down there with people crowded around the counter and shouting at the officials, people walking behind the counter and remonstrating with the staff! People had brought their whole families with them, kids and all and the room was pretty packed. Standing room only. Next time I will go to Chaeng Watnaa I think or pay someone to do it for me as quite a few other people seemed to have done judging by the motorcy taxi drivers turning up with passports.
