Looking To Buy A Bbq

Just south of Rimping on the Chiang Mai Lumphun road is one spot of many you can find one like you described.

A stainless metal shop can build you one, a simple small charcoal grill with a additional gas ring and tile added possibly, for a price roughly double what the painted barrel type will cost you. Plus it won't rust apart in a year. I had one built 4 years ago, sold it too a friend as it was made far larger than I requested, and it still looks and works like new. If it wasn't for the plentiful mosquitoes in my Moo Ban I would have a new smaller one built, just big enough for a whole chicken on a beer can.

Homepro sells several different styles and are very reasonably priced. I bought mine there about 4 years ago and its still going strong. The one thing I found, none of the Thai shops sold them with lids. However, the one's at HomePro are proper grills with closing lids. They also sell Webber grills at Rimping, but they are extremely expensive.

if you looking for something REALLY strong and works well I got one made by a Christian group that trains locals in skills such as welding. It was 9000 bht and is a gas grill with a big hinged top perfect for beer can chicken since it can be used as an indirect heat smoker with turning of the flame on one side. Comes with lava rocks and all the fittings and will deliver. I don't care about the agenda of sellers, don't even really know any details but had this for a few years and it's cooks! If you want details where ask and I'll find them for you.

There's a BBQ store on the canal, going towards the night safari. Can't remember the exact location, but it's a small store, on the left. Look out for the red sign. They have a decent selection, but rather pricey.
