Question About Double Entry Visa

Featured Replies

Staying in Thailand for three months

Plan to travel outside thailand during this period.

Previously discussed this in the forum about two months ago.

I have received my double entry visa from Hull.

What concerns me is the last paragraph in the letter from the Consulate.

It says 'At the end of your final 60 days stay you must leave Thailand and cannot re-enter without a new visa.

My question is:

After I make two trips outside Thailand during my three months stay, if I make a third trip can I enter Thailand again if I will not be staying more than a month before I go home.

Example:

January leave and come back

February leave and come back

March leave and come back: but will not be staying more than 30 days before I go home.

Yes no problem, if you are flying back in the final time you may need to show (at airport check-in) that you have an onward ticket taking you out of Thailand before the 30 days are up.

If you are coming back in overland then an onward ticket is not normally asked for.

You realise that at the end of the second 60 day stay it is not neccessary to leave Thailand if you do not wish to................you could simply go down to Local Immigration wherever you are based and apply for a 30 day extension to the 60 day stay (go down on the day or day before 60 days are up )............you will need copies of relevant pages in passport, passport photo and fee 1900 baht...........you could take your flight ticket although its not normally asked for.

Edit.........just to add the initial 60 day stay (1st entry) could also be extended by 30 days locally so each stay (entry) is good for 90 days in effect.

You will receive a 30 day "entry without visa" stamp on that 3rd entry and be fine. You could also obtain a re-entry permit to keep your second 60 day entry stamp alive if you wanted but that would cost an extra 1,900 baht and there does not seem to be any need for it if you final visit will be less than 30 days.

A single entry tourist visa would have been sufficient.

It will get you in the first time with a stamp for 60 day.

If you leave and return within the 60 day, you can do so using a Re-Entry stamp permit

obtainable for Immigration in Thailand, cost 1900 baht.

At the end of the 60 days you leave and come back on a 30 day stamp.

For the final entry you will need an onward ticket, or the airline may refuse

to carry you. Not a problem if you come in across a land border.
