Re Entry With Retirement Visa

Featured Replies

I have a retirement visa due for renewall in Sept. Silly me forgot to get a visa to leave and on re,entry from China yesterday was give a voa visa for 30 days. Do I now have to get a new retirement visa or can I go to immigration and pay for a re,enrtry and keep my original visa.? Many thanks.

You need to start over. Your defunct visa (or retirement extension, if applicable) is in fact, 100 percent defunct.

You have lost your extension of stay and must now obtain a non immigrant O visa entry and then extend again. Cost will be 2k to obtain visa and the normal 1.9k for extension. And you will need to meet the financial conditions as any new application. Best to obtain a re-entry permit at the same time you do the extension of stay just in case.

If you are in Bangkok immigration can make the visa entry if you do with 15 days or more remaining but upcountry might require to visit Bangkok for that process. If you do not yet have the funds in bank or letter of income you may want to visit a Consulate and return with a new non immigrant O visa entry and do later. But if you have the funds they do not have to meet the three month rule to obtain the non immigrant O entry from immigration but would have to meet for the extension of stay (before the 90 days are up).
