maiphedmaiaroi
Walking or driving around bangkok daily i tend to see many female farangs. Usually walking alone and in areas that tourists dont go. This is why i think they are usually expats. Married to a thai man or teacher etc. Anyway i am yet to see a female dressed as they do in there own country. To be honest it seems they just let themselves go. No make up and hippy type clothes. For me it would be nice to see a few more western women walking around looking smart as they do usually in the west. So why is it female expats dress like hippes and throw away their make up bag when they arrive in thailand?
Popular Post samran
yeah, okay. And how do you dress?
Popular Post lovelaos
From my observations a vast majority of MALE expats in Thailand also let themselves go years ago. Please remember, Thailand is a melting pot for lost souls and losers from every corner of the earth.

TexasRanger
Do Russians qualify as farangs? If so, most of the ones I see are dressed like porn stars and hookers, not complaining though. I see a lot of brit and ozzie type women doing the hippie thing, I think they watched "The Beach" too many times.
Popular Post wana
welll ,its hot in thailand baggy clothes are probably airy and comfortable a farang woman wil probably not have the figure to wear a tiny pair of denim shorts and a small top like a thai woman can anyway
Popular Post pattayadingo
I stopped wearing make up long ago in Thailand, it melted and ran in the heat and none of my women liked it dripping all over them as we humped in bed. Plus it never made me look any more hansum

Popular Post Riley'sLife
Well, I’m all in agreement with western women wearing hippy clothes, having a scruffy appearance and especially not wearing make-up. The thought of any human being having to slap paint on their face in different colours to feel confident enough to go out in public is, frankly, hilarious. If they are ugly surely they should be able to demonstrate the fact to everyone. Actually, they should be made to demonstrate the fact. I am totally disgusted when from time to time I am exposed to the truly appalling sight of a farang couple walking hand in hand, especially when the woman is old enough to be his wife, and don’t even get me started on western men in their 20’s and 30’s with Thai women of similar age. Now that is so embarrassing to behold. Have they any idea how other people see them? Let’s face it, women will never be equal to men, ...... well, not until they too are able to waddle down the street with a bald head, yellow teeth, hair growing out of their ears and nostrils, a beer gut, double or treble chin, sweat stained shirt, sandles with socks, nicotine stained fingers and food stained shorts........and still think they are sexy! wana
as tempting as it is to lounge around in a food stained vest ,boxer shorts and flip flops i do sometimes make an effort to wear a clean shirt and jeans and shoes but not every day though ,that would be just ridiculous
pattayadingo
Us bald, fat old gits never seem to worry if we wobble and jiggle as we walk and that is just our beer guts, never mind our sexy man boobs bouncing about beneath our T-shirts. The only real reason we don't dress like hippies is because our hair is too short (non-existant).

nocturn
what a festival of misogynistic ignorance. Threads like this really do show how many bitter, camel-trophy-clad souls on this board have a failed marriage back home under their belts. to the contrary i cannot leave the house without seeing a western woman i wouldn't mind getting to know better. horses for courses i suppose. cmsally
What do you mean by dressed like in the west, everything here is mega size. Thank god I brought my jeans with me to UK as the smallest size here seems to be too big. 28" jeans are proving really hard to find. On the bright side though I can wear my wellies. But you won't find me wearing those in Thailand.

tutsiwarrior
the western woman clothing issue is a RACE issue...western women in hot climates are genetically indisposed to wearing stylish, tight fitting clothing like their local counterparts and have no choice but to wear loose fitting cotton attire like the ladies from the 'Incredible String Band' many years ago or to appear slatternly sweating in shorts and tank tops... many years ago in Nicaragua tutsi was faced with a choice between a progressive internacionalista US woman in a flowing cotton dress and a local mamacita in tight jeans that showed off her stuff...tutsi chose the latter saying: 'hey there mamacita, I got some dough, let's me an' you go have a party...'...later tutsi was threatened with immigration violations and prison and had to quickly leave the country...my choice was not politically correct in sandinista Nicaragua... wana
thai women have the body at 28 yo that western women havent had since they were 16-18yo they couldnt wear most of the hot pants and short shorts thats on sale here anyway because of the size differnce thai woman can pick a new outfit in 2 minutes at any stall farangs are probably stuck with rent-a-tent style gear so they have to go for the washed out ,frumpy ,baggy hippy kinda look.....
