Hi

Can anyone reassure me with some concerns I have with making a UK Visa Settlement Application??

My wife and I am very close to making a Visa Application for her to come and live in the UK.

My concern is regarding the accomodation -

I currently share a house with a third party - the third party is my friend who is also the landlord and owner.

The house is a large 2 bed terrace which has been completely refurbished so it is in very good condition.

I have an "excluded tenancy agreement" for another 10 months. This tenacy type is specific for renting a room within a property. All other parts of the house are specifically listed as Shared to me in the tenancy agreement.

I have a letter of consent from my friend/landlord for my wife to live here with me and I have a mortgage statement to confirm it is his house.

I do intend to rent a house of my own within 6 months and then buy within 12 months of that.

In the mean time - I want to get the ball rolling on applying for the Visa.

I have spoken with a certain Visa agency who tell me it is better if I have my own house (rented or owned).

They also say that the UKBA will want to know that my wife is going to be safe living in the UK. I asked what this means and I was told that the UKBA may think it is unsafe for her to live in this house with another man. They went on to say that if the landlord was a woman it may be better.

I asked how can i show that she will be safe - they answered "you cant, the UKBA will just look elsewhere to for a reason to refuse the Application".

I want to be certain of being successful with this application but these comments have put doubt in my mind as to whether I should apply whilst living at this address or whether I should put off the application until I have a house of my own.

Can anyone give guidance on this?

Thanks in advance
