Hi,

We have just completed the online Visitor Visa Application for my Thai girlfriend :). We have also just booked an appointment at VFS for Friday - SCARY!

What I want to know is when booking the VFS appointment we just entered her information for the appointment and booked for 1 person.

At the end the message said the applicant's passport would be checked by security before being allowed in to the centre and only those with appointments would be allowed in!

I was really hoping to accompany her to help out. Will I be allowed in anyway as a British Citizen? Should I cancel the appointment and book it for 2 people entering my information as well (although naturally as I'm a UK citizen I don't need a Visa :))

Any advice?

Joe.

You cannot go into VFS, even if you are a UK Citizen.

You book for one person that is your partner, she is the one who is applying not you. Just go somewhere and have a coffee and wait.

It is not an interview, it is just them taking the documentation from her and also getting her biometrics, so do not worry too much.

As beano2274 says, you will not be able to accompany your girlfriend into VFS. However, in view of some of the recent posts about VFS it might be a good idea to try to keep an eye on what happens from outside. Do not let anyone outside the VFS office take her documents from her before she enters, and check that she has submitted everything as soon as she comes out.

As VP says, just wait somewhere outside the security doors (there are now no chairs there).

They let my Thai gf (now wife) out to get a cashier cheque from the bank downstairs, (we had taken one from Kasikorn, Chiang Mai which they would not accept), and then go in again, it took maybe 15-20 mins, but they were very helpful in that respect.

I would just hang around outside the office rather than going anywhere to wait just incase there are any problems. As stated above you are not allowed inside with her.....but when my wife submitted her settlement visa they did let me inside, but only because I had used my email & password for the application and they needed her to log-in and reprint some of the pages. I was soon kicked out again though when it was sorted.
