Re-Entry Permit... Expiry When Doing 'Early' Retirement Extension

Featured Replies

I can apply for my retirement extension renewal 1 month before the current extension expires. (Chiang Mai Imm.)

If, at the same time I obtain a Re-Entry Permit, will it be valid until my current extension expires, ie. 1 month,

or will it be valid until my new extension expires, ie. 13 months.

Get the extension in your hand then do the re-entry which would then be linked to the new extension, all on the same day of course.

Thanks Beano...that was within 1 minute of my posting.

From my experience, It will not be 13 months; it will be 12 months, for both, from the date you apply.

A re-entry permit is always valid until the expiration date of the current permission to stay.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

And an extension of stay is always from current permitted to stay end. So if you apply 30 days early the new stamp will be almost 13 months away and the re-entry permit will have the same validity.

If you extend on your last day then yes they will both be 12 months.

I just did what you are asking!

Renewed quite early and got the benefit of such extra time for my re-entries.

From my experience, It will not be 13 months; it will be 12 months, for both, from the date you apply.

With respect........Not the case
