ok , I admit I am actually in Thailand .

I am starting to look for work now in Bangkok.

I do have a Tefl certificate and about 18 months genuine experience - just wanted to see the lie of the land as such for someone who may not be considered to be 100% qualified to teach their own language - whatever that may mean.

My issue is that I'm not a serious teacher and am only in Thailand for the ladies, booze , puff and fun - just want to teach to support myself.

Is there anything wrong in that ?

I know the Thais don't give two hoots about their education so why should I ?

If u attend to work in BKK. My friend just open an English language school at Bangsue area close to Bic-C wongsawang. Now in her school just have 4 english native speakers and she is looking a few.

Pls mail to me I will give her Tel. no. to u contract her directly.(She got Ph.D. from MIT usa and can speak english verywell)

Tosser.

I luv Thailand. Not just for the birds, (I have my own-long term) maybe for the booze and the good times yes and, would luv to teach in Los but, please don't take the piss by pretending its an easy way to live here and not give a toss about the people you're trying to teach.

You'd soon get found out and sacked.

From my knowledge of people I know who teach in Thailand and, the ones who enjoy it the most, have put a hel_l of a lot of time and effort in to they're classes. A lot of that time is not in the school. Its in they're time.

Get a grip son, if you've got the TEFL you could have a reasonable life in LOS with a lot of the fun sides thrown in, if you were a little less flipant and put time, effort and enthusiam into teaching.

I think teachers that are good at they're job have a lot of respect from others esp in LOS. You haven't made a good start fella.

The drunken sexpat who tries to skate by on teaching public school in Thailand usually freaks out by the second class of 51.67 distinterested students in a non-air conditioned classroom in May, with construction going on outside and Pachasapa talking with Duannapha. It's hard work, and Duannapha isn't stupid enough to lift her skirt for a loser.

Go home and adjust your attitude, or else you will go nowhere in life.

Oh, and stop smokin sh*te (puff). It obviously doesn't agree with you.

The boys in brown don't like people that flaunt that, weather in the street on the beach or, on Thai Visa.com.

Its div's like you that give farang a bad name with some Thai's.

Dr Cruella!

Do you know this guy? Or did you just not read what he has written?

I used to run an EFL school in Brighton and met loads of these guys after they'd dropped their CVs in - its the strong smell of booze that gives them away... :o

Ther is nothing I can add here that has not been said, and rather well by redrus in post 35 & 38....

I'm just her to post that I agree totally.

I taught for a bit, to support my life, but whether I work as a bartender, teacher, bank clerk or a <deleted> arse cleaner, I will always do the job with the utmost passion.

What I do in my private time (drink mostly) is my business, but the job is the job, and to read comments like, "Thai's don't care about hteir education, so why should I".... Ah.... Angry smilie.... Gettin' my goat there.

Hope to never meet you.

Brilliant suggestion there Kayo. Thank you

So where should he apply for the position of

" frigging arse cleaner" and do you think he would be successful.

Though Mr-Goodness is obviously a very loathsome character one cannot help wondering how many people actually feel the same way about why they are here but are just too polite to admit to the world or themselves for that matter?

Blake7, if Mr. Goodness had presented a few serious points in a reasonable matter, we'd have treated the issues with more respect.

Sure, some folks come to Thailand for sex, for alcohol, or whatever. But that's not the main reason. They can get those things elsewhere. Part of the problem is when they come here thinking they can get free sex, cheap booze, and lay about in a stupor while pretending to make a bare-bones living doing something that's extremely more important and difficult than they imagined.

Those guys usually don't last one semester. And they're not all over 49 years of age, either.

Thing is mate he doesn't actually feel like that at all, he's just posting here to try and troll and to be honest doing a pee poor job of it.

Well I'll be honest , I have no qualifications but am fairly good at English and have a bit of teaching experience.

I hear it's easy to get work in TL so I'm coming over. I'll admit I like a drink and am no saint either.

Does that matter and is it really that easy to get work?

I hear all you need is a white face and a bit of willling - must beat working in a call centre back home . I'm currently on the dole in England but have enough saved up to make it to Bangkok.

Any advice , like how much cash do you reckon I need and does it matter that I'm not a serious teacher?

thanks..... :o

If you work in a call centre then you're probably from Calcutta!

Oh yeah, and TROLL

I agree he is obviously a troll and no doubt he is a "regular" member of TV who has created this "persona" in order to make a social observation. Perhaps he has met one of the types he is imitating and wants to make fun of them.

A bit like 'Little Britain".

But not as funny.

This is a bit like having a boil on your ar*e- you can pick at it and make it worse or have it surgically removed.

My suggestion is remove it - (the post) - it's not going anywhere or serving any useful purpose.
