anterian
So, they accept that Thaksin is guilty, they're just pissed that he was singled out. Posted with Thaivisa App http://apps.thaivisa.com I am pretty sure that is exactly how he sees it. And I don't think it is entirely unfair to say that they have all been at it for donkeys years. Doesn't make the issue any different that he was caught and found guilty, however, I think we can pretty much guarantee that he has so much ammunition on so many protagonists who are still involved that they really have little option but to find a way to get him back. He could probably bring quite a few very important people down if they don't do what he wants. And to think that the coup leader is leading the reconciliation. One really has to wonder why?????? Exactly my thoughts for a long time, he has the low down on too many people, from the very top downwards. One reason he has never been seriously pursued it that he could take too many public figures with him if cornered.
WackySomchai
"As coup leader General Sonthi Boonyaratglin was trying to rectify his past mistakes by pushing for reconciliation" An interesting point. I missed the part where he said the coup was a mistake. The coup was the best thing that could have happend or today we would be living in a dictatorship style country like Cambodia. Too bad that is where we are going towards now unless the military steps in again.
sirchai
OMG- That man sure does have the biggest EGO I have seen. It is almost like he wants to take over Thailand with his own little army. It looks like he is trying to gain the a demi god status, Who knows some day he may challenge those who shall not be challenged. If I was some one that was revered and honored I would be keeping an close eye on Him, his brother and little sister- something wicked comes this way. Just my honest opinion from what I have seen in other countries where I operated in. If the Thai Schools taught world historyy from out side Thailand- They should read about the rise of Hitler, He sure has the same charisma in my opinion "If the Thai Schools taught world historyy from out side Thailand- They should read about the rise of Hitler, He sure has the same charisma in my opinion." anterian
I would guess that Thaksin has the inside dope on most events in Thailand, I think the main reason he is keeping quiet is out of a real respect for someone he admires. I know this will make the Thaksin haters laugh, but this is how I read him.

Thaksin is rescuing only himself and fills his pocket, but murdered only 2900 (war against drugs). Can't be compared at all. YET. There is unfortunately still time. think civil war. Which means when he does push it too far, and gets taken down, he will be gone, but the secret files will bring down others. Of course those that do finally act will have l ess to lose than most or none and could care less if others fall too, as long as he is gone. Then then dominos begin to fall. rubl
Commenting on a recent Thaksin phone-in at Surin, he said he expected Thaksin to come home after receiving a just settlement. This is the call in that he told the red mob thugs he was negotiating with the judges for their release from jail. Carrot and donkey trick and they fall for it. he expected Thaksin to come home after receiving a just settlement. says it all. Yeah for democracy k. Jatuporn style. TinoThailand
I wonder how many Thai think.. hmmm just go to the North East get on a boat and sneak into Laos with some snipers that's not so hard right? I'm sure some people think like this right? Some cold war maybe... It's revolution time here. A revolution does not mean fighting time but people don't know much better sometimes. lannarebirth
The OP is a good example of the kind of "expert" K. Thida would prohibit from participating in a charter rewrite. Constitutions are not meant to be changed arbitrarily according to the lastest political shift in wind direction. They are to be carefully crafted for use under governments of all political stripes. It is generally accepted that supermajorities in both referendums AND parliaments are required to affect changes in them. That's for a good reason. In the post that I replied to you gave a link, if you knew it was blocked what is the point of posting it. How am I supposed to infer from the comment "how you get there is up to you" that it is blocked? It could be accessible using methods we are not allowed to use in Thailand for example. If you're looking for the us ambassadors opinion of thaksin you would be better served to look at all of the cables regarding the pair of them. Some of the us ambassadors other cables contradict what he says in that particular cable. However if as you say you just want to look at a one dimensional take on thaksin you'll be happy, heaven forbid you might want to dig further.
