Who Make Fake Marble ( See Photos Inside)

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

can somebody tell me for a company or good workers, who make marble imitation on the walls. I have some work to do. I attach 2 pics here that can give some idea of what I am looking for.

Thank you jap.gif

look like polished concrete. maybe you are looking for polished concrete instead

You can buy this at the marble/granite shops as it is synthetic marble made from polyester fibers.Expect it to be more costly than regular marble.

no, it's not synthetic marble but in a special way applied paint on highly polished cement/gypsum mix plastered wall. when i saw it for the first time years ago i was fascinated. would have liked to have some walls done like this but got only blank stares from painting contractors.

to the OP: in case you find a contractor please PM me. i am willing to get his team down to Pattaya area. thanks!

You can do it either way. A colleague of mine has purchased faux marble panels in China for hotels in Africa but obviously that wouldn't be feasible for you (unless you're working on a large scale project).

Or, you can find a painter skilled in the technique. Best we could find in Africa was a painter who could do a marble "effect" but it takes great skill and practise to create a genuine effect.

Not that either of these options helps you much, but good luck with your search - surely somebody in Thailand has used these methods before...

If anyone has a polished concrete specialist (also for acid etching and staining) either in CM or anywhere in Thailand possibly. I would be interested in knowing.

If I can find the right contractor I would like to use the finish, but having seen the half assed jobs done under this banner, I am looking at other finish options.

Google PaintFX Thailand. :)

very interesting effects but not a single sample that looks like marble.

on several occasions i found out that in Thailand "terrazo" (usually black and white marble chips embedded in concrete and then honed and polished) is called "polished marble".

Interesting..

I kinda shelved the idea after being told how hard it was to get a decent service but recently stayed in a little boutique in Cambodia, that had gone with polished concrete and that 'terrazo' finish you mention in bathrooms and it really worked well stylistically with the dark woods. Modern and clean, hard wearing and shouldnt be very expensive.

Just had a thought.. One company (not building tho) who will have knowledge and experience with faux marble is norh speakers in bangkok.

Would be worth speaking with Michael Barnes as I know they have used synthetic marble for some of their offerings.

Its a lead anyway.

Yes, I've only had stucco work done by them. But I think they could do the marble effect if asked.

but "terrazo" on walls is virtually impossible.

Then I miss understood what you described as the marble / chipped flecked concrete product was.. This was done in slabs, hones / ground on edgings, and used in walling and countertops etc..
