Enquiry Made At The Royal Thai Embassy Singapore ( Non Imm -O)

Featured Replies

While in the Embassy on Orchard Road making a passport renewal for one of my children, I took the time to confirm requirements for a 12 month Non Imm -O Multi Entry visa (marraige to a Thai citizen).

As I am residing in Singapore this visa is available but with the following changes that I was unaware of.

In addition to the signed and dated photocopies of my wifes i.d., Tambien Bahn, now there is a requirement that my wife must write a letter of invitation to confirm who I am and that she is agreeing that I am coming to stay with her, at our (her) house.

I wasn't aware of this letter of invite, although we have been asked for the same when ahe applied for a tourist Visa for the UK.

Also, I asked about the requirement for travel tickets and was told that only proof of a ticket into Thailand is required. Proof of finances are also required, although I didn't ask about the cut off limit.

For Your Info.

The last 12 month I got there was August 07....its a shame they stopped doing them as although Penang is a good trip...Singapore is a beautiful place to spend a few days while waiting for a new visa.....still, helpful info for those it applies to.

Well things may change, and soon.

There is mass of construction going on at the Embassy right now, with a huge building and a number of large ones going up around the present place.

In all honesty, the present place is something that time has forgotten and looks woefully inadequate considering the constant stream of people that were coming in for Visa's, etc.

The section for Thai passport applications is smaller than my living room. The passport office in Korat is a far more grand affair.

The new buildings going up behind really do look like they mean business here though, bang on Orchard Road too.

We will see, I was told the new offices are due to be completed in August this year.
