Police Clearance To Get A Non-B

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if in Vientiane they ask for the police clearance to get a non-B, for Europeans?

I do have all the other required documents.

If so, how difficult is it to get the police clearance here in Bangkok? I heard they ask for a certified copy of your passport. Does anybody know what exactly they mean by that?

Cheers.

No, police check needed.

Certified copy means you sign the copy.

If you need police clearance: http://pcscenter.sb.police.go.th/eprint.html

Police check is normally only required for teachers.

True that but not to get the Non-B visa. I was never asked for that when I was teaching for many years.

That would be up to the MOE or even the school can ask for it.

Actually it is clearly required by Consulate for visa issue for the last five years if they request it; per MFA instruction below.

Police certificate verifying that applicant has no criminal record or equivalents or letter issued by authorised agencies in applicant’s country. (The requirement of the submission of such police certificate is optional. The applicant must submit it if consular officer requests he/she to do so. This requirement is effective as from May 2007)
