Opening A Gbp Bank Account

Featured Replies

Can I open a GBP bank account rather than a THB one with the major banks? Which ones & can it be done outside of Thailand?

Comes under the same criteria as opening a Thai Baht bank A/c here in London.

Is that a yes or a no then? Is my question unlcear?

When it comes to money and you have enough of the stuff ..you can do ANYTHING....

answer yes.....have a word with the lad down at HSBC in Silom (next door to Pat Pong) but you will have to make an appointment but at least they will give you a cuppa tea and biscuits....

however:

Eligibility

Individual customer (Thai and non-Thai) who

- maintains a total relationship balance of THB 3 million, which include a savings account, current account, time deposit account or Unit Trust investment with HSBC or

- is approved for THB 5 million or more for a Home Mortgage Loan from HSBC

You got to Keep at least Bt 3m (£-$- or wotever) in your a/c and dont touch it otherwise you get a "gep-tang"

We are delighted to welcome you as part of the selected few to our exclusive HSBC Premier service which provides personal relationship banking, global recognition and world class rewards.

If you require further information regarding HSBC Premier, please make an appointment to contact your Relationship Manager or call our 24-hour Personal Phonebanking...etc...

Remarks:

Foreign accounts are available in US Dollar, Pound Sterling, Australian Dollar, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Euro and Singapore Dollar.
