Multiple Re-Entry Permit For Education Visa

Featured Replies

I will be going to apply for my first Ed visa in a couple weeks. However, I plan to leave Thailand several times this year. Does anyone know if they will allow the unlimited re-entry permit (3800 baht) for people with Ed visa? I know for tourist visa you can but not sure about Ed visa.

Also, can this be puchased at the airport or at the old immigration at Suan Plu? Or only at chaengwattana?

Please advise.

If you live in Bangkok you get your re-entry permit in Chaeng Watthana, only Saturday morning in Suan Phlu.

Any re-entry permit only keeps the current permission to stay alive. Depending on what and where you study you get extensions of stay for 90 days or for one year at a time. The multiple-entry re-entry permit is available for any type of permission to stay, eg also if you had a 90-day extension of stay for education.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

With a multiple ED-visa, no re-entry permit is required. But the multiple is getting difficult to get.

With a signle you can only stay for up to 90 days and then ask for an extension. Extensions are normally for 90 days, unless it is a real university study. Your re-entry permit is only valid tll the date your current permission ends. So unless you get a 1 year extension of stay, the multiple re-entry might not be worth it.
