July 15, 201214 yr The ingenuousness of the right wing cabal here has reached toxic levels. If I told you I support and agree with ex-congresswoman Cynthia McKinney and said she is just a regular liberal, not someone far left, and that I am actually a moderate and not a liberal, you would say TOTAL BS and you would correct! I said West was a far right wing extremist. I did NOT say he was a TERRORIST! Again, I don't support left wing EXTREMIST McKinney OR right wing EXTREMIST West. If you support an extremist of either wing, you can't possibly be a moderate. McKinney is to the LEFT as West is to the RIGHT. Please stop denying objective reality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1y3maNzFo4&feature=related Edited July 15, 201214 yr by Jingthing

July 15, 201214 yr Some happy news. Americans are feeling a bit more optimistic. Obama's lead is growing. Sorry to depress the Obama detractors but the writing is on the wall, so you may as well prepare yourself psychologically for a SECOND term. http://www.haaretz.c...-finds-1.450437 "Obama and Democrats at large have found an effective hammer to use against Romney with the Bain Capital attacks," he said. "People think of Romney as being rich and elite and don't see him favorably in that light." Edited July 15, 201214 yr by Jingthing
July 15, 201214 yr Sorry, good try on the spin front, but most polls say that they are pretty much running neck to neck. .Even your very own link from a liberal rag mentions it. "Other national polls have shown a tight White House race, with Obama generally holding a slight lead over Romney. A Washington Post/ABC News poll on Tuesday had the two rivals running dead even." July 16, 201214 yr I'm REALLY asking all you regulars to sincerely take the ISIDEWITH test and to post your results, as I did. Then we'll know for sure where we're coming from. Obama's statement on business was poorly spoken but the gist of the sentiment when taken in CONTEXT is true. Edited July 16, 201214 yr by Jingthing
July 16, 201214 yr Obama's statement on business was poorly spoken but the gist of the sentiment when taken in CONTEXT is true. Uh, no it isn't. Obama was speaking without his teleprompter and like always, he makes a fool of himself. Honest to God, he is only slightly better than Bush. The only difference is, the media - who overwhelmingly support him - don't report his moronic gaffes. The sooner he is out of the White House, the better for America.

July 16, 201214 yr Ah interesting as I see when I went back & looked at the choose your stance/more options a bit I got the White printout style that JT did. So JT what did your original vote show? Tell the truth now It was Ron Paul right After I went back & looked at the choose your stance sections I found answers that better matched my stance & ended up with this 93% Ron Paul Who you side with by party... 93% Libertarian 54% Republican 18% Green 12% Democratic Edited July 16, 201214 yr by flying
July 16, 201214 yr What I showed was my original results. I only did the test once. I chose my own stance I think once for only one issue as part of the original poll. Of course liberals agree with libertarians about half way. My results showed that perfectly. I was surprised I was so high for the Green Party. I suppose I am more of an environmentalist than I had realized. Edited July 16, 201214 yr by Jingthing

July 17, 201214 yr UG, as you are so close to Obama, I think you will actually be alright when Obama wins. I one the other hand, will not be alright if severe conservative (his words) Romney wins. Edited July 17, 201214 yr by Jingthing
July 17, 201214 yr I don't care how he tried to rationalize an incredibly stupid statement. I care that he said something so out of touch with reality. This guy has no idea how private business works.
July 17, 201214 yr I don't care how he tried to rationalize an incredibly stupid statement. I care that he said something so out of touch with reality. This guy has no idea how private business works. Interesting. Didn't Romney say: I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE POOR?
July 17, 201214 yr What Romney said was "I'm in this race because I care about Americans. I'm not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I'll fix it,". The liberal press took out one sentence in order to distort his meaning. In Obama's case, his meaning has not changed, but his justifications for putting burdens on private enterprise have not been included as they are superfluous to explaining what he meant. July 17, 201214 yr Not the same thing at all. Romney's sentence lost the meaning that was intended. Obama's sentence did not. Edited July 17, 201214 yr by Ulysses G.
July 17, 201214 yr UG, as you are so close to Obama, I think you will actually be alright when Obama wins. I one the other hand, will not be alright if severe conservative (his words) Romney wins. I do not think that Omama's current positions are sincere and that he will go much further to the left when he does not have to worry being reelected. That is why America must make sure that he is defeated in November.
July 17, 201214 yr UG, as you are so close to Obama, I think you will actually be alright when Obama wins. I one the other hand, will not be alright if severe conservative (his words) Romney wins. According to that tool Obama and Romney aren't very far apart on most of the issues that I care about either. Or perhaps I should say that that they aren't very far apart in terms of what they say about those issues.
July 17, 201214 yr Author My poll looks thusly: ______________________________________________________ SIDE WITH Romney - 86% Paul - 81% Johnson - 78% Obama - 52% ______________________________________________________ BY PARTY Republican - 86% Libertarian - 80% Democrat - 52% Green - 6% ______________________________________________________ Being somewhat surprised that I could find anything to agree with Obama about, I looked a little further and found this: 1. Should we expand our offshore oil drilling? Barack Obama: Incentivize the private sector to develop alternative forms of energy Your similar answer: Yes (My comment: I said expand offshore drilling. Obama says alternative energy. Hardly an agreement on policy.) 2. Should the U.S. intervene in the affairs of other countries? Barack Obama: Only in matters of national security, human rights violations, or specifically asked by the international community Your similar answer: Only if there is a direct threat to our national security (My comment: I said only if a direct threat. Obama says if asked by international community. If the UN says we should invade Canada it would seem Obama would do so. I disagree.) 3. Should illegal immigrants be given access to paid healthcare? Barack Obama: No, but their children should have access to healthcare Your similar answer: No (My comment: I had no caveat on my "no".) The overall result is credible with my positions but the 52% agreement with Obama is skewed in his favor.
