Thai Customs

I am currently planning to inport my household effects here to Thailand from Australia.

Before I do so, I would like to find out how much it will eventually cost me from Thai Customs.

Does the age ie: number of years old, of an item/appliance/stereo get taken into consideration, or how do they calculate the value of an item?

Do they operate from the value on the original receipt? If some things are quite old, like 14 years old and virtually worthless second hand, written off, so to speak. Do they charge the original value from when it was new?

Example: Fender Jazz Bass US$ 999 bought in 1990. Now only worth US $200 on the second hand market and 14 years old but of great sentimental value.

What would Thai customs charge for such an item?

Regards
