I am moving to Thailand in July on an education visa.

I am a US citizen currently living in The Netherlands. When I leave the Netherlands I have to take my money with me, and would love to avoid having to transfer money twice, once back to the US and then to Thailand.

However, I don't have a residence is Thailand yet. Is there anyway possible for me to open a bank account in advance of my arrival?

Maybe something a Thai attorney could help with?

Very simple and straight forward once you are here.

Recommend either Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn.

Just make sure you ask for a saving account not checking account etc. You'll get a passbook and ATM card/debit card.
