Opening A Bank Account

Featured Replies

I am moving to Thailand in July on an education visa.

I am a US citizen currently living in The Netherlands. When I leave the Netherlands I have to take my money with me, and would love to avoid having to transfer money twice, once back to the US and then to Thailand.

However, I don't have a residence is Thailand yet. Is there anyway possible for me to open a bank account in advance of my arrival?

Maybe something a Thai attorney could help with?

I don't believe you can do in advance, But no problem once you are here

Very simple and straight forward once you are here.

Recommend either Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn.

Just make sure you ask for a saving account not checking account etc. You'll get a passbook and ATM card/debit card.

Transfer it to my Thai bank account, then when you open your Thai account, I can just transfer it back to you.
