Best Chance For Another Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I just recently missed the visa expiry date for the last entry on a 3-entry tourist visa. I didn't realise it until I was already in Nong Khai, so I had to do an exit/entry for just a 15-day stamp. Since I planned on staying through the 3rd entry on this visa, now I've got to find my best option to get at least a single entry in the next few days.

I'm from the US, in my passport I've got: a 3-entry visa (issued in US) from over a year ago, all entries used. A single entry from Phnom Pehn, used immediately after that 3-entry. Spent about 3 months back in the States, and got another 3-entry, of which I just used the first two, and here I am.

Considering this, anybody have any opinion on where the best place for me to go to have a good chance of getting another tourist visa? I've read through some recent reports, seems a bit hit and miss, and I don't see anybody with a similar passport history. If anybody has any experiences with similar situations, then please share. Thanks for the help.

Got my third back to back double entry in Laos recently, if you all you need is a single I would be really surprised if you didn't get at least that. Especially in Savanakhet according to other peoples reports.

Thanks for the reply. Did you get your visas all in Savanakhet? I had planned to go back to Vientiane, but do you think I should change my plans to try Savanakhet instead. Thanks much again for the info.

No, I got mine in Vientiane with an agent, but many people are saying Savanakhet is more willing these days,

Where in the US do you get a 3x entry?

I got mine from the Houston honorary consulate. The last time I called and asked about a visa they were not as friendly and forthcoming as they had been before, they said I should use the Los Angeles consulate (because I'm in California). I sent the paperwork and fees to Houston anyway, and they sent me back a stamped passport in short-order, so I guess they are good as long as you have the right paperwork.

Thanks again. Where is the easiest quickest place to find an agent in Vientiane? I hate all the waiting and paperwork, and I'd rather pay somebody to do it for me (which is why I chose PP last time), what's your recommendation? Any rip-offs to watch out for?

There are guys outside the embassy that supposedly will do it for you but I wouldn't use them myself for personal reasons. I used Five Star Visa Runs (just a booking agent, but I got the same guy twice) out of Pattaya, was 7900 baht including all transportation, visa's, hotels, meals, etc.. No waiting at all for anything.

The guy was really nice too, gave us tips about bargaining at the market and good restaurants etc.. If you aren't in Pattaya you can also meet him along the way or in Laos, I have seen other people arrange this on one trip. No rip offs with the agent but I know you get ripped off if you pay for the Visa on Arrival in Thai Baht. Good luck whatever you choose to do!
