Uk Tourist Visa For Thai Who Lives In Saudi And Europe?

Featured Replies

hi, this is a tricky one, hope you can help!

My boyfriend is thai but was born in saudi arabia. He lives 6 months in Saudi and 6 months in Europe. (with regular thailand trips inbetween) He has his Schengen Visa and residency in Italy. We met in thailand as i live here but I will be returning to uk soon and he would like to come and visit to see how he likes it.

Any advice? Would he need to apply whilst here in thailand ? Also when he is away we talk everyday using Skype how do i log this to show proof of relationship? how much would they expect in the bank or monthly income?

Thanks in advance!

For general advice on UK visit visas see UK Visit Visa Basics and the relevant links from there.

He should apply in his country of residence, which would be either Saudi or Italy. What is his status in Saudi? If he has full Italian residence it may be simpler to apply there.

I don't know how to log Skype calls, but explain that this is how you communicate in your sponsor's letter. If you do email or talk on the phone at all then include evidence of this.

There is no fixed amount of money a visitor needs; simply that enough is available to cover the costs of the visit. These funds can come from the applicant, the sponsor, a third party or any combination of these. See above link for more on this.
