"Angel Potato" Spotted On The Main (Nawarat) Bridge

Sawadee Khrup, TV CM Friends,

At exactly 8PM Thai-time tonight: I was in a tuk-tuk crossing the main bridge, headed east towards the start of Thanon Charoen Muang: we were stopped, waiting for the light to change.

Directly in front of us, slightly to the left, was a female motosai rider in a wind-breaker type jacket, that had on the back in very large letters, down nearer her rear than her neck ... "Angel Potato."

In smaller letters in two lines to the right of the main "Angel Potato" omen, was written (perhaps a clue to the esoteric meaning ?) "Angel Potato ... Good and Cool Girl Collection."

Also to the left of us, ahead of us by two cars, was a tuk-tuk whose back-side was decorated with a set of multi-colored LED's, each color defining a different aspect of a large stylized face. The eyes, in the shape of tear-drops, were a golden-yellow; from the blue mouth stuck-out a large red tongue diagonally towards the right side of the face (in my eyes); and, the face was outlined in ... dam_n ... I forget the exact color ... maybe a green.

Perhaps, given a similar astral conjunction, you, too, would forget one ... or more ... colors ?

Lovely lyrical hand-movements of dancers performing at Thapae Gate that seem to defy what I believe a wrist is capable of ... sudden coolness even heading down traffic-heavy Chang Moi, bridge-bound.

A sense of the emergence of the Nagas' (phiyanaak) power and force, the limnality of the approaching rare eruption from subterranean aquifers of the Thai psyche of waters of joy ... and ecstasy to the point of wanton abandon in public-riot ... that is, at times, in my experience, one step away from violence.

But, then go to a Wat at 6am or so, to see the old, gentler, way of Songkran, the reverence of those who bring sand.

And I will, as always, go to kneel and bow before my moo-baan's eighty+ "earth mother," who presides in regal state over a little shop that is a menagerie of both animals and stray humans, and she will lustrate me, I hope, and say a Pali prayer-mantra over my fleabag-hide, and ... that ... will be the essence of Songkran for moi.

And, then: I'll hide for days, at home, or go somewhere quieter in the north, until Chiang Mai is no longer so tumescently water-full-fall ... a jot-and-a-tittle less culturally orgasmic (?).

:)

Please tel me that was a joke.

Sawasdee Khrup, Sabai Dee Songkran, Khun HelloDolly,

Are you asking that using "tel" in the sense of "tel" from Hebrew: תֵּל‎‎, or tel or tell from Arabic: تلّ‎, tall" ? And, are you using the word "that" in the Kantian sense of "ding an sich," or in the Upanishadic sense of "tat tvam asi," (Sanskrit: "तत् त्वम् अ") ?

Quixotically, HelloDali
