30 Day Visa Exempt Extention? Thai Wife

Featured Replies

I have not posted here for years...

ok, my question... is it possible to get extention of stay with out a visa ?

When I lived in Thailand I use to get a non o marrige visa... now wife and I both live in uk, I came to Thailand for a holiday of 60 days, I came without a visa thinking I could just do a boarder run, to get the extra 30 days but the laws have changed since I lived here....

So is it possible to get any kind of extention of stay or do I need to get tourist visa from neighbouring Country.

Thanks in advance.

Did you come alone or with wife?

You and wife will have to visit immigration with photo and fill out normal TM-7 at 1,900 baht for a 60 day extension of stay. Take proof of marriage and your.her ID documents.

I came alone, wife is still in the uk

Then an extesion will not be possible. The extension is to visit your wife/children and she has to come along when applying.

YOu either apply for a tourist visa or leave the country and fly back in to Thailand from a neighbouring country to get an extra 60 days.

Thank you for the info, the laws have changed a lot since I lived here... is it now possible to get tourist visa in Thailand, or do I still have to leave the Country ?

You must leave and apply at a Consulate - normally next day service except for PP where it can take 3-4 or more.
