April 12, 201214 yr Good article on the elderly facing growing problems here as well. Google this: "age is catching up" "world suicide prevention day" I'd like to think those of us that are relatively lucky can figure out ways to help those least fortunate in our host country, if nothing else on a personal basis. And please refrain from how you are already indirectly supporting hundreds through your "kindly donations" to healthy young girls.
April 12, 201214 yr Google 'suicide'. The keyword is intentionally (as in free will). And old age has nothing to to with it. Edited April 12, 201214 yr by Semper
April 12, 201214 yr Author Google 'suicide'. The keyword is intentionally (as in free will). Sorry, not following you. Are you suggesting that the solution to the problems expressed here is to encourage those afflicted to make the rational decision to "go gentle into that good night"? My understanding is that Buddhism doesn't condone such an approach, and while I myself am all for personal freedom in that area, I don't think it's actually a reasonable solution for most, especially given how insignificant the financial resources would be to make a huge difference in such peoples' lives.
