raro Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Hi, my secratary is standing in front of me and states with a broad smile that on the third of January is a day off as well and she is not inclined to show up in the office. Slavedriver I am, I cannot really agree on that and cannot find anything that confirms TWO days off for New Years. Anybody out there knows whether the third is off or not? Thanks for advise! raro
HarryHacker Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 ...certainly not a holiday where I work!
johnh101 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Our site is normally 7 days a week. We are off 31st, 1st, 2nd and 3rd in accordance with the Client and HO in Bangkok. I believe that 31st and 1st are the holidays but because they fall on the weekend we get off Monday and Tuesday.

lopburi3 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showuser=128 Above post by George says the 3rd is a holiday so guess all members of TV have it off. It is not listed as a holiday on any of the three bank calendars for 2006 that I have.
Sumitr Man Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 The 3rd. is one of the wonders of living in Thailand. It is indeed a Government holiday, but not a Bank Holiday. As such, all Government offices will be closed, but all commercial banks will be open. Consquently it is not a holiday for my office, where you need to have the combined Government and Bank Holiday to warrant a day off, but may well be a holiday for large numbers of others. SM
