April 23, 201214 yr Hi All Where in Bangkok can i get the best Hummos and kebabs. Im staying near Onnut BTS but willing to go anywhere in Bangkok for some real smooth Hummos. Thanks
April 23, 201214 yr Soi 3 for Kebabs maybe Hummus Good. Someday, and that day may never come, I'll call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day – accept this information as a gift on my daughter's wedding day. .
April 23, 201214 yr Go to the Lebanese place that is adjoining Bamboo Bar opposite Grace Hotel in Soi 3 (walk down soi 3 away from sukhumvit and on your left 150m down. Fantastic food at more than fair prices. Enjoy.......
April 23, 201214 yr I haven't looked as I get enough on my working days, but I would suggest searching out a good Iraqi restaurant if one exists in BKK. The Soi 3/Soi 5 area is probably as good a starting point as any.
April 23, 201214 yr Try Bangkok's very own "Little Baghdad", Sukhumvit Soi 3/1 and its small sub sois. Plenty of Middle Eastern places there.
April 23, 201214 yr Try Beirut restaurant near Sala Daeng BTS station, cant remember which exit, but the food is great.....
April 23, 201214 yr Beirut is good, there's a branch in the Ploenchit Centre too (by Ploentchit BTS), and they deliver through Food By Phone.
April 23, 201214 yr +1 for the above recommendation. We have been eating at the Beirut restaurant in Ploenchit for many years, they are consistently good. They also have a location in Silom. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g293916-d885702-Reviews-Beirut_Restaurant-Bangkok.html You can get delivery via www.foodbyphone.com as well
April 24, 201214 yr beirut's hummus is "decent" but the bigger problem is in their pita bread (a critical component) it is cheap as hell and just microwaved before served. If you want really authentic hummus with some of the best homemade pita bread, go to Shahrazad. Hands down the best arabic food i've had in Bangkok. Their hummus is 100baht, pita bread is not free, but I forget how much it is. You have to walk down soi 3/1 about 100 meters and it is on the left side. It is hard to find, with little advertising (hard to find restaurants that are always busy like shahrazad must be doing something right), but if you can't find it just ask someone. The place has a very serious atmosphere, I should point out, you go there to eat, not to socialize.

Personally, Im more partial to their baba-ganoush than hummus
April 29, 201214 yr As above, Shahrazad. Great hummos and awesome baba-ganoush. I have been eating there for over 20 yrs and it hasn't changed at all. Some of the same waitresses are still there. I was eating there last month and one waitress asked my friend if he was still living on Petchaburi Soi (I forget) and he said "no, I moved in 1997". She remembered from his take-away orders.
