7 Day Extension..Looking For Clarification

Featured Replies

Was just hoping somebody could clarify for me

I am from the UK and My current 30 day stamp on arrival is about to expire on the 25th April ( tomorrow) however my flight out of BKK is schedueled for the 2nd of may.

If I go to get a 7 day extension on the 25th April will this be sufficient to tide me over till the 2nd May? Or will I have to advance my ticket? (Which will be a pain in the backside as it is gonna cost me)

Counting it logically it should seem to however I've heard contradicting reports that when you get the 7day extension you only actually come out with 6 days! Is this true?

Just hoping someone can clarify from experience

Cheers!

It is seven days but day of application is day one so you will have to change flights or be overstay (and they may not allow the seven days without proof of valid flight). It would be better to make a quick trip to border crossing point for about the same cost if in Bangkok or near a border (daily organized trips from Bangkok/Pattaya for about 2 to 2.5k all inclusive).

You should be allowed to stay untill the 2nd with a 7 day extension.

normally extensions are different than visa run calculations , and should give you 7 days full extra (or 30 days depending if visa extension ) so it should cover your needs . Extensions starting first day AFTER expiering permit to stay stamp

OK thanks for the replays guys...are you sure the 7day extension will be given from the day after my expiry stamp? (My current stamp says 25th so logically I think and agree that the extension should start from the 26th -2nd thus 7 days)

???

Also just out of interest if I had to do the border run..what is the easiest to do from Bangkok and where is it best to get the bus from?

AFAIK the 7 days should start on date of application as it is not an extension of stay but 7 days allowed for a disapproved extension of stay application. But have seen reports both ways. If not using organized border run believe bus to Aranyaprathet from bus station or from casino pickups at Lumpini Park are normally used.
